Vamos a la playa

Shit man.
I have a genuinely good excuse for my unbelievable absence i swear! I just started a new school so life has been hectic and extremely stressful, so i must admit my blog sort of got neglected. But never fear, i am here! I've finally uploaded all my summer photos so I can show you a few pictures from Spain. Oh, and i also may have gone to Crete. I won't ramble on because a holidays a holiday, and the moment has kind of past.

^ Those are all from Barcelona or Platja D'aro in Spain. And now a few from Crete...

My friend and I went off on an adventure up the mountain and stumbled upon this little chapel which i thought was rather sweet.

I went to Reading festival which was unbelievable, despite being absolutely filthy. I was lucky enough to see Eminem, Disclosure, Bastille and Biffy Clyro to name a few. I took a few photos on disposables which I haven't yet got developed but i'll share those with you in the nearish future. Next year I so want to go to Benicassim festival in Spain.. better get saving! Before Reading I spent hours looking at 'festival fashion' etc but to be quite frank, once I was there that all went down the drain and i ended up looking and smelling like a total troll.

I promise to be consistent with my posts from now on and I hope you're all surviving, despite the end of summer being upon us.

Around the world in 80 days

hey lil strangers!!!

I suddenly realised I promised i'd tell you all about Cyprus but i never did, and in the meantime i've been to Spain! So i'll do a double post, hope you don't get too jealous.

Cyprus was absolutely amazing, I went with two friends and we stayed in Limassol. The holiday pretty much consisted of sunbathing until we were on the verge of melting and then going out until unearthly hours of the morning. The place was idyllic and we met so many people which was really brill. One Sunday we went to a beach party which was unbelievable... like literally unbelievable- half way through, a man dressed as a baby clown stormed through carrying a pretend coffin and did some sort of bizarre ritual.... but the entire day was such a laugh. Here are a couple photos from the beach party...

I wont brag too much more, instead i'll just pic a few decent photos ( which there really are not many of! ) to show you...

^ Sorry they're hardly beauties but they're cute and summery and depict our friendships rather well haha

I know I said this would be a double post but I know feel i'd be overdoing it if I told you all about Spain so maybe i'll leave that for another day.

I'm off to Crete tomorrow but i'm bringing my laptop so i'll try and tell you more about my travels soon.

Hope you're all having a lovely summer wherever you are,

Memory Palace

I got back from an amazing holiday in Cyprus on Wednesday which I shall endeavour to tell you all about soon but right now I want to tell you a bit about an exhibition I visited today at the V&A.
It was a spur of the moment thing and it was called 'Memory Palace'. Its virtually impossible to describe, it was a sort of walk in book, with walls covered in text, poems, quotes and artwork showing a story. I'm not even going to attempt to summarise the 'story' so instead i'll provide you with the synopsis...

'Hari Kunzru's story is set in a future London, hundreds of years after the world’s information infrastructure was wiped out by an immense magnetic storm. Technology and knowledge have been lost, and a dark age prevails. Nature has taken over the ruins of the old city and power has been seized by a group who enforce a life of extreme simplicity on all citizens. Recording, writing, collecting and art are outlawed.
The narrator of the story is in prison. He is accused of being a member of a banned sect, who has revived the ancient ‘art of memory’. They try to remember as much of the past as they can in a future where forgetting has been official policy for generations. The narrator uses his prison cell as his ‘memory palace’, the location for the things he has remembered: corrupted fragments and misunderstood details of things we may recognise from our time. He clings to his belief that without memory, civilisation is doomed.'

It was absurd, bizarre and extraordinary but truly brilliant.
What i liked the most was the text because some of it was so meaningful, but unfortunately I can not give you an example of what I mean because photography was forbidden (ridiculous). Well, I say it was forbidden, but I, being the rebel that I am took a few rubbishy photos anyway...

I got a few cool postcards for free which I could scan in but i really cannot be bothered and I kind of want to keep this vague because thats the beauty of it, the whole thing of 'not knowing', so if you live in London, go!

I'm off to Spain tomorrow but i'll try and blog again soon - got a few things to update you all with...

Local lust

I've spent an abnormal amount of time in the library this past week so I dont have anything wonderful to share unless you want photos of me sitting at a desk wanting to gauge my eyeballs out. Its weird how all of a sudden everyone seems to go to the library its like a sort of craze, centre of all social gatherings... I kid you not. It's a bit pathetic really, especially considering a vast majority of the teenagers that go to the library each day spend at least half the day standing outside having a fag... productive or what?! Ok, im sounding rather bitter, i do apologise, I blame stress. I have my English Language GCSE tomorrow which i am doing absolutely nothing for because i'm a lazy idiot xo

During my walks to and from the library i've just taken a few photos of my local area and some places nearby which i thought i could share with you. One of the photos is of a vintage shop in Crouch End, if any of you live anywhere near I suggest you go there - and theres another vintage shop 'painted black' which is really amazing.

Sorry they aren't particularly thrilling, but I think they're pretty xo

TIME FOR TEA

I've finally scanned in ALL of my polaroid photos and have found a few more to share with you all.
A while ago my friend had a 16th birthday tea in a little tea room which was really brill. The decor was so vintage and we munched on tea and scones, with a dash of raspberry lemonade and we all wore old fashioned hats although i must admit we looked like absolute fools.
If anyone is stuck on what to do for their birthday I really recommend doing a tea because lets be honest where can you go wrong, EVERYONE LOVES FOOD!

Here are a few pictures of the afternoon which i really like because they have character and make me feel like a posh upper class lady in the late 1800's lols xo

I apologise some of the polaroids are a bit grimey but heyho!

ALSO IMPORTANT QUESTION
I'm really keen to do a giveaway soon as a sort of small thank you to everyone for actually reading my blog because it is rather shocking that anyone gives even half a shit about what i ramble on about BUT i'm not sure if i'd get enough responses... opinions??

Love all you little cabbages xxxx

Polyvore my life away

Yesterday evening I went to Hampstead fun fair with some friends and then chilled and ate crepes with my friend Hara, i took a few photos which i shall show you all soon but they aren't exactly exciting, so soz!!!!!!

I spent a whole 8 hours in the library today so i have gone slightly INSANE, so polyvore has been my cure this evening. Thought i'd share my creations with you, they're really simple but rather snazzy if i may say so myself.

I'm sure its quite evident that i blog about pretty much anything that tickles my tastebuds at the time but i think the time has come to say, IF YOU HAVE ANY REQUESTS FOR SOMETHING I CAN DISCUSS/REVIEW/WRITE ABOUT/BLA BLA BLA, JUST COMMENT SOMEWHERE AND I SHALL ENDEAVOUR TO DO SO DEARYDOOOS!

The Great Gatsby

Today, as it was a bank holiday, I went on a family trip to the cinema to see the one and only 'The Great Gatsby'. To be honest, I hadn't even heard of it until last week but everyone has been going absolutely mad over this film so I felt i had to see it, despite not having a clue what it was about.

People have said it was unbelievable and left them speechless, I don't mean to be a party pooper but I wouldn't go that far. My view is, overall it was a really good film and the cinematography/effects etc were absolutely outstanding, but for someone that has no idea of the plot, the storyline was absolutely BIZARRE and rather hard to follow. To begin with it just seemed to skip from one random scene to another. Also, am i the only one that found it rather peculiar that it was set in the 1920's yet Jay-Z was booming in the background during certain scenes?

HOWEVER.

Leonardo DiCaprio. Say no more. He is God. He alone made the film worth seeing in my opinion. It seems that he just never gets older and his looks just get better and better. I don't want to say too much about the film itself as I don't want to give too much away but i'm just going to leave you with a few pictures of Leonardo as Gatsby so you can gawp over them...

If you haven't seen the film yet, I definitely recommend it, even if all you get out of it is staring at good ol' Leonardo
