TIME FOR TEA

I've finally scanned in ALL of my polaroid photos and have found a few more to share with you all.
A while ago my friend had a 16th birthday tea in a little tea room which was really brill. The decor was so vintage and we munched on tea and scones, with a dash of raspberry lemonade and we all wore old fashioned hats although i must admit we looked like absolute fools.
If anyone is stuck on what to do for their birthday I really recommend doing a tea because lets be honest where can you go wrong, EVERYONE LOVES FOOD!

Here are a few pictures of the afternoon which i really like because they have character and make me feel like a posh upper class lady in the late 1800's lols xo

I apologise some of the polaroids are a bit grimey but heyho!

ALSO IMPORTANT QUESTION
I'm really keen to do a giveaway soon as a sort of small thank you to everyone for actually reading my blog because it is rather shocking that anyone gives even half a shit about what i ramble on about BUT i'm not sure if i'd get enough responses... opinions??

Love all you little cabbages xxxx

Polyvore my life away

Yesterday evening I went to Hampstead fun fair with some friends and then chilled and ate crepes with my friend Hara, i took a few photos which i shall show you all soon but they aren't exactly exciting, so soz!!!!!!

I spent a whole 8 hours in the library today so i have gone slightly INSANE, so polyvore has been my cure this evening. Thought i'd share my creations with you, they're really simple but rather snazzy if i may say so myself.

I'm sure its quite evident that i blog about pretty much anything that tickles my tastebuds at the time but i think the time has come to say, IF YOU HAVE ANY REQUESTS FOR SOMETHING I CAN DISCUSS/REVIEW/WRITE ABOUT/BLA BLA BLA, JUST COMMENT SOMEWHERE AND I SHALL ENDEAVOUR TO DO SO DEARYDOOOS!

The Great Gatsby

Today, as it was a bank holiday, I went on a family trip to the cinema to see the one and only 'The Great Gatsby'. To be honest, I hadn't even heard of it until last week but everyone has been going absolutely mad over this film so I felt i had to see it, despite not having a clue what it was about.

People have said it was unbelievable and left them speechless, I don't mean to be a party pooper but I wouldn't go that far. My view is, overall it was a really good film and the cinematography/effects etc were absolutely outstanding, but for someone that has no idea of the plot, the storyline was absolutely BIZARRE and rather hard to follow. To begin with it just seemed to skip from one random scene to another. Also, am i the only one that found it rather peculiar that it was set in the 1920's yet Jay-Z was booming in the background during certain scenes?

HOWEVER.

Leonardo DiCaprio. Say no more. He is God. He alone made the film worth seeing in my opinion. It seems that he just never gets older and his looks just get better and better. I don't want to say too much about the film itself as I don't want to give too much away but i'm just going to leave you with a few pictures of Leonardo as Gatsby so you can gawp over them...

If you haven't seen the film yet, I definitely recommend it, even if all you get out of it is staring at good ol' Leonardo

Green with envy

I've spent the entirety of this evening having a one sided conversation with my cat whilst watching a documentary about transexuals... sounds exciting doesn't it? Well, it wasn't.
AND
Whilst i sat doing this, my parents were at a Muse concert. I'm not a massive fan of Muse or anything, although i do think they're a good band, but i am absolutely overflowing with envy. To be quite honest, live music is amazing whoever the artist, I just love the atmosphere and being part of the crowd. My mother dearest recorded a few of their songs that i like for me and it looked like a really brilliant show, flames, fireworks n all sorts... snazzzzzy!

I have to mention how brilliant some of the Muse album covers are, I don't know what is it but theres something about them which I find really fab.

And for any of you that haven't heard their music before...

Nightynight loserz!!!!!!

It's a time of change

Heyho all you lil slothbags! So, today i have managed to irritate every single person i've conversed with, so I thought it sensible to spend the day alone. I spent an entire ten minutes attempting to revise some Biology but soon lost interest and went for a little stroll.

I haven't done anything particularly ravishing and therefore won't be sharing anything great with you but i've spent rather a lot of time thinking about deep, philosophical things lately.

Something that has been on my mind a lot is change. Partly because a lot of changes are happening in my life at the moment i guess, and it's something that fascinates yet terrifies me.
This is so perfectly true..

And on the topic of change I've been making a few collages showing how things have changed over time in my life, slightly pathetic, and very time wasting but yeah..

Random, rather bizarre post i know, but i'm just speaking my thoughts.

Hell week

I feel obliged to start by apologising for my lack of posting, I assure you I have not abandoned you all! This week has been what is commonly known in the world of year 11 students as 'hell week' ... basically I had a TON of exams and therefore my blog was neglected ever so slightly, but HEYHO here i am!

Today I went to Oxford Street with mother dearest in search of a prom dress and it was a SUCCESS!! I described what kind of dress I wanted in a post a few weeks ago and I found something absolutely perfecto, here it is ( and my new heels ) ...

The dress is from Bershka and the shoes from Aldo... I confess, i have spent the past two hours walking around my house in the outfit like a total goon.

Hope you've all had a lovely week and didn't miss my posts too much lol xo

Oh so grunge

Today i was in a really awful mood so i decided some retail therapy was needed so i started browsing through clothes websites.
That got me thinking about how trends come and go and how 'grunge' is now suddenly the 'in' thing. However, i don't know if i'm alone in this view but our recreated 'grunge' just does't live up to its original. I started looking at photographs of the likes of Johnny Depp and Kate moss in the 90's and they look so unbelievably effortlessly cool but somehow these days it always seems to look like one has put a ton of effort into their 'grunge' look.

Anyway, i concluded i love the look of the 90's and their effortless style and if i could, i'd go back in time so i could be a teen in the back then.

Ok, it's been a long week and i'm aware im probably making absolutely no sense and i do apologise. I'll just show you some of the photos i've been looking at instead of waffling on...

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Smile for the camera

A few weeks ago I did my art GCSE which involved doing a ten hour final piece, which for me was a painting. The day before, i called upon my wonderful cousin and had a mini photoshoot - the theme was Force and I was focusing on movement and dancers and flowing materials, nonsense like that. It was great fun because I got to spend the day taking photos, something I love, AND the photos had a purpose.
I thought i'd share some of the photos with you, they aren't great quality and the backgrounds are awful (my kitchen door!) but they were the best we could get with such little time and space. I was aiming to capture her graceful movement somehow, so here you go...

N'aw isn't my cousin beautiful xo

Sweet dreams

I'm off to bed as i have a whole day of revision ahead of me (woo, cannot wait xo). I've had an extremely unproductive evening doodling and collaging. I'm going to post them here so you can all stare at them whilst I sleep (sounds creepy) but anyway, goodnight!

and my favourite...

Sleep well,

Doodlin'

Now that my art GCSE is over i've been feeling deprived of creativity so i've started doing little doodles  and I thought i'd show you a little shitty one i just did.

It's a jokey animalised portrayal of body image issues/a load of nonsense..

Its stupid and pretty rubbish but yes, thats what i spend my time doing haha. Poor lil kitty xo

Car boot

I thought i'd tell you about some of my most impressive bargain hunting, don't mean to boast but my bargain hunting skills are phenomenal. When the weather is good i love love love going to car boot sales and having a rummage. If you live in London, go to a car boot sale in Dalston Kingsland ( i think thats what the place is called? ) because you can find the most amazing things there!

Heres what i got:
a jumper
shoes
blouse
jeans
dress

ALL FOR £13!!!!!

I really recommend going to car boot sales if you can because it can be turned into a really lovely day out and the variety of stuff you find is brilliant. Take a friend and just go for a hunt around and you never know what little gem you may find.

Here are photos of what i recently bought at a car boot:

Sorry about the poor picture quality xo

I'm a versatile blogger, snazzy!

I've been nominated by Rosie (from Rosieandthewolf) for a versatile blogger award ( THANKS SO MUCH, TAKE A LOOK AT HER BLOG ITS BRILL XXXX )

So, here are the rules:

1)Thank the person that gave you the award.
2)Include a link to their blog.
3)Select 15 blogs to nominate for the award (soz, but 15 is not gonna happen)
4)Tell the person who nominated you and your readers 7 things about yourself.

Okay so here goes the seven facts...

1. When i'm older i want to be a travel journalist so i can travel the world and document my experiences, taking some photos along the way.

2. I've never bought an item of clothing online in my life... shocking i know. I spend a disgusting amount of time browsing online sites but can never bring myself to spend my non-existent money!

3. I've started about five blogs in the past but posted one rather pathetic post about my cats or something equally absurd and gave up... so if you search my name on google rather a few embarrassing blogs will appear.

4. I don't like savoury food. I don't even mean i have a sweet tooth... i quite literally do not like savoury food, which is rather unfortunate.

5. I LOVE singing and still have a childhood fantasy of becoming a famous singer however ridiculous and unrealistic that may be... a girl can dream!

6. I'm going to sixth form in Camden next year just a few minutes away from the market and i absolutely can't wait, particularly considering i've been at school in the absolute middle of nowhere for the past five years.

7. I'm an absolute, total weirdo. Self confessed may i add. The only thing anyone ever has to say about me is 'haha Maddie you're so weird' or something fairly similar, but I LAV IT XXXX

Now for the nominations...

Sorry thats no way near 15 but im sure you'll all survive

Anyway thanks again for nominating me, it means a lot because i only just started this blog so its nice to know at least someone enjoys reading it!

Got a few more things to post later,

Getting deeeep

I have my Religion and Philosophy GCSE first thing tomorrow morning so i obviously won't be able to post anything until later on tomorrow but I thought I would leave you all with some philosophical thoughts. They may bore you to death, if so, i apologise, but i love them.

And last but not least...

Sorry for the really short, boring post but I really need to do some last minute cramming and go to bed!
Wish me luck,

Bikini body

With Summer just around the corner i'm sure i'm not the only one becoming increasingly concerned about my non existent bikini body! Somehow, and goodness knows how, i stumbled across an absolutely brilliant article which showed this picture....

I just think it is BRILLIANT! Such a breathe of fresh air from all these skinny/diet obsessive articles im always reading these days so i thought i'd share it with you all.

Vintage fair

This morning I really outdid myself with my procrastination and actually ended up at an antique/vintage fair at Alexandra Palace and it was absolutely wonderful. I went with my mum and it was full of little oddities, vintage jewellery, cameras, tableware, postcards and of course CLOTHES! I fell in love with a 60's chunky necklace but typically, it was £125 so i of course did not buy it.

I have to say i find it absolutely ridiculous some of the things people seem to pass for vintage these days, on one of the stalls a man was trying to sell Harajuku perfume... um sorry babe but i can go down to superdrug and buy that? Absurd.

Anyway, I did make a purchase - I got a green patterned button up dress with shoulder pads and it was only £12... BARGAIN. My mum also bought a really pretty broach encrusted with semi-precious stones which was really lovely. I would have loved to buy a little leather shoulder bag because I love the vintage bags, but i had to refrain as my bag collection is currently filling my entire room.

I'd better get revising, but here are some photographs i took, and there is a picture of my new dress...

I took the card for a few of the good stalls so here are a couple:
